Welp, it was about time wasn't it? I didn't do anything at my internship today BUT coding the blog space. xD
I wanted to host a blog for a white now and I thought the perfect opportunity showed up when I made this website, only after two year I finally can realize it.
The basic layout is done! Hell yeah! That is what I wanted to achieve today. I made the CSS design modular so if I change anything in the blogs design it will apply on all of them, which is something I did on purpose and iframes are a blessing in that case. It's something I still need to do on the rest of the site (help me).
But what will I do else with the website? Honestly, I don't know yet. I know I want to use it as a form of self expression but I don't know in which way yet. I am learning to draw as of right now and I just mighttttttt post some updates on that eventually. Maybe I can make a progress post sometime lmao.
For now I'll share some design history of this website. I started building this site somewhere in 2023 without any clear vision in mind, I only thought about having two sidebars and a mainframe as most websites that are being hosted here (nothing wrong with that its classic!).
As you can see with beautiful developer graphics below, I achieved that goal in some sort of manner. but you can definitely see nothing was on there yet. the buttons used a ugly image instead of a css gradiant, incorrect spacing etc. That's where it started and ended quickly.
So in 2024 I decided to give it another shot, I changed the button layout, changed the design structure and made the front end "feel" more finished, but it still was pretty basic. Only problem, there was little to no content. At the time I used to host a art gallery at a server at home that worked in the iframe so I used that, now that was the only thing of note on the website, which was boring. You still can see in the image the "unfinished" feel, the musicplayer kept breaking all the time so I had to look for a new one. so I decided to redesign it yet again.

At this time, I've been browsing neocities for a while now and it gave me a lot of insight and ideas how to set my page apart, I decided to remove the body background and kept everything else. I really, really liked how that looked in the end but the final problem was, the font was barely readable.
So I played around with a final layout change and that was merging the left side bar with the main centered content. This was something I was really happy with, it made it feel to me that the content is easily accessible and very modular. I can move things around easily with the setup I have made. I use that universal design all over the site now and I have done more work on this page this week alone then I did over the last years.
This is as of now my final design and I am really happy with it, I'm really statisfied with what I have accomplished this far and I want to keep working on this page in the future, as a personal blog. Thank you for reading my first blog!
